The Client:
Following a recent round of funding this startup, backed by Canvas Ventures, wanted to rapidly scale their engineering team. They had poured several hours into interviewing over 20 candidates, with none making it past the technical challenge. They were increasingly frustrated that they couldn’t find the right person.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate would be someone proficient with Golang, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and Graph databases, who also had experience working within the security and privacy domain, ideally for a startup in a similar stage of growth.
Our Approach:
Once we began our search, it took us just four weeks to fill the position. We contacted 75 candidates in our network, screened over 40 of them and submitted the best four to the engineering manager. The final shortlist was based on those who were the best technical and cultural fit, and who’s future goals aligned with the growth plans of our client.
The Result:
They were already involved in interview processes with two other startups when we approached them, so we coached the engineering manager on how to properly convey the benefits of their opportunity and present an attractive offer.
