The software startup is a defense AI company at the seed stage, dedicated to crafting the foundation of AI for Defense. Our focus lies in developing compositional and modular products in AI that bridge the gap between data, specifically with raw sensors as inputs and COP’s + GUIs for output.

We are in search of a skilled Software Engineer with a diverse background encompassing UI, algorithms, the translation of higher-level specifications into work plans that are detail focused, the most important factor is prior experience overseeing the development of one or multiple products until it/they reached the shipping stage.

Upon joining, your primary responsibility will involve assisting the existing team in bringing our initial suite of products to a status of deployability. Generally, you will collaborate with the team on various facets of our core products, take the lead in integrating with software solutions and external APIs, and contribute to products being customized and their eventual deployment. Your work environment will offer a blend of autonomy and independence in your approach, coupled with the highly cooperative nature of a small, fast-paced team setting.

As one of the early hires, you will have the active encouragement and opportunity to shape the trajectory of product and feature development. Additionally, you can grow into more substantial roles or explore other disciplines as the company grows and expands. 

Qualifications:

• Solid proficiency in Python
• Minimum of 3 years of experience 
• Versatile background and the experience and willingness to address challenges across UI, core engineering, deployment, data management, and the development(s) lifecycle
• High comfort level with Linux and virtualization
• Prior experience overseeing the development + shipment of at very least one product

Preferred:

• experience in defense
• Hardware integrations experience
• Networking experience
• Interfacing with ‘established’ UIs – DoD UIs like ATAK is ideal
• Developing products based specifically on AI models

Comp. $180k-$200k
